Here's an experiment with a graphic in Xanita but i'm still not sure if i'll use this method or a spray on stencil or something else.

Joining Method

Ok i've had this idea for the joining method all along but now i've finally made a test:

After making the test i found that the large thin sections are too flimsy and here is my progression page in my book:

Concept Progression

After talking with Justin I've shortened the back rest and changed the supporting ribs. The side panels now go all the way across and there are two extra ribs in the middle.

Here's the new 1:1 mockup with the shorter back and new side panels.

Concept 3: Further Development

Concept Scenario 1 (Design:Made:Trade)

My first proposed scenario is for Design:Made:Trade. The chair will be for watching design movies at individuals exhibits or at a larger gathering area. Another idea would be to use Portable Film Festival, who can set up facilities to send movies to your phone via bluetooth. Below are my brainstorming page and some further sketch development pages along this theme (I've enjoyed trying to make reclining chairs throughout all my sketches so far).

Concept Scenario 2 (Salone Satellite)

Concept Scenario 2 is a reading space where people can read folio books and brochures about the exhibitors. It should be a relaxing space with possibilities for private or social interaction.
